Autumn greens
Over the last seven to 10 days the greens staff have started on the autumn greens renovation, all putting surfaces have been aerated in several different formations. The following list below is a brief explanation of the procedures.
1. Air 2 G2 Deep Aeration Machine - High pressured air is blown into the profile of each green to a depth of up to 15'' inches. This creates fracturing and fission which creates a more aerobic environment.
2. Vertical Draining- 1/2 inch tines to a 10 inch depth have been used to create pore spaces for deeper rooting.
3. Toro Procore - This is solid aeration using 5 inch tines to help connection to other aeration stratas.
4. Deep Verti Cutting - This is used to reduce the decomposed layer (Thatch).
5. Top Dressing - A medium/coarse sand as been used to level the putting surface and dissolve unwanted thatch.
