Golf Trade Show
This week I've visited the Golf Trade Show in Harrogate. As well as looking at next year's equipment and clothing from all the major golf brands, I've also attended a few educational seminars and the PGA Teaching and Coaching Conference. I have always like to attend as many seminars as possible, because when it comes to coaching you can never learn enough. It's a great opportunity to learn new techniques and practices for both business and coaching. My Highlights of the week were:
Dr Paul Hurrion - Key parameters for a putter
James Ridyard - Mastering the wedges - The data, techniques and practice behind tour quality wedge play.
PGA Master Professional and Golf Channel Star Martin Hall - Teaching with technology.
Co-founder of the Titleist Performance Institute (TPi) Dr Greg Rose - Secrets to unlock power and teaching around body swing connections.
Ladies Autumn Trophy
Due to heavy rain the Ladies Autumn Trophy was played over 9 holes The winner on the day was Sandra Barnes (45-9=36) and the runner up was Ann Farrell (46-6=40).
Junior Knock out Final
Congratulation to Jack Wilson for winning the Hallowes Junior Knockout 2015.
Autumn Fourball Results - Saturday, 3 October
Winners - J. Bower and R. Hemingway (48 points), runners up - J. Moran and L. Jacques (46 points), third place - M. Walters and D. Brack (44 points, back 9) and in fourth place - R. Tilly and M. Hodgkinson (44 points).
Five Day Membership
The Board of Directors have recently made a decision to slightly increase the number of five day playing members.
Accordingly, any members over the age of 30 who would like to become a five day member (currently £815 per year) should express an interest in the first place by applying in writing or email to secretary@hallowesgolfclub.co.uk by no later than (Friday, 6 November). No applications will be considered after that date. If the numbers are oversubscribed, priority will be given according to age and length of membership and a waiting list will be produced should further offers be made in the future.
Please note that expressing an interest is not a guarantee that the request will be granted and it is recommended that members are fully aware of the restrictions of being on five day member before expressing an interest.
Pratice Ground News
We would like to inform members about the gate on the practice ground two. As from Wednesday, 7 October the gate must be closed at all times. Members are allowed to use practice ground two, but they must closed the gate and use the combination lock. The lock number is 1989, please scramble the given code on exit.
Winter Quiz
The first winter quiz night starts on Wednesday, 14 October. The cost is £4.50 per person which includes food and the chance to win a raffle prize as well as the quiz. The quiz will take place on the following dates:
