Professionals' Medal

On Wednesday, 12 August I won the Professionals Medal with a score of 69 (one under par) in the Derbyshire Alliance event at Matlock Golf Club. Last week our new Assistant Professional Isaac Simpson shot a 69 (one under) and finished second in the Assistants North Region Order of Merit event at Helsby Golf Club.

 

Competition News

The First Team concluded their fixtures for 2015 with a 6-2 win over Bondhay. Well done to John Jarman, Steve Lister, Adam Bearder and especially Geoff Thorpe who made a glorious winning comeback after a 10 year layoff. Also, a big thank you to all that played this season it's been a brilliant experience. I have witnessed some really great match play golf. Hallowes finish third and can look forward to next season with the confidence of knowing we have a squad of players more than capable of returning to the first division.

On Sunday, the Second team beat Tapton GC 8-0 to move into second place in their league. Top performance from Ray and Vinny, Jon and Andy, Nigel and Andy and Rob and Bob. Wayne takes the team to Bondhay next Sunday needing a win in order to get into the finals for another year.

We also had Rob Goodall and Shane Broughton and Mark and Jack Wilson represent Hallowes in the Aitchison Trophy played at Phoenix GC. It was a team pairs BB stableford competition. They had a very good aggregate score of 77 points which put us in fourth place behind Wath who won with 82 points. Great effort men, thank you.

We are in the last six weeks of the competitive season so still plenty of time to get those handicaps down and step onto the winner's rostrum. I'm hoping it's me but it could be you....

 

Regents Lee Trophy Tue 11 Aug
First place - Bill Pagdin (41 points, back 9), second place - Derek Saveall (41 points) and in third place - Bill Roberts (40 points).

Ladies Captain Round One - Wed 12 Aug
Silver Winner - Jenny Woodhead (90-19=71).
Bronze Winner - Judith Race (100-27=73).

Thursday's August Medal - Thu 13 Aug
Division One Winner - Richard Burnell (78-11=67, back 9), second place - John Hoyle (80-13=67).
Division Two Winner - Geoff Stones (85-18=67), runner up - Andy Hirst (84-16=68).
