Many thanks to all the players for making a tiring but successful Sunday Open Scramble, you all contributed to a great day.

Following that I had a very enjoyable trip to Wheatley with the first team on Monday. I am delighted to say we came away with points again, losing 5-3. Very positive for us in a number of ways as it keeps us in the race for promotion which is now likely to go down to the last game of the season. Wheatley lost 7-1 at Lees Hall last week so we are now eight behind them with a game in hand and (theoretically) a much easier run in. We have Lees Hall at home next week so any support would be very welcome.

More importantly, following further team changes Stef Priest played his first game this year. He went out first and came home with both points, a brilliant result against Martin Haddock. Just as impressive was John Jarmans nail biter against Neil Stones (SUGC men's match play champion 2014) which went to the last hole and JJ holed a four footer to get a half. Just awesome.

Geoff Thorpe and John Jarman represented Hallowes in the SUGC Turner Shield a scratch foursomes event. They did really well to finish mid table in a very strong field. Thanks guys you did Hallowes proud. Good luck to all playing in the Allen Cup. Vinny 



The ladies Sunday Salver competition was won by the Vice Captain, Christine Dobson, with an outstanding score of 42 points.

Hallowes Ladies took first and second place in the Tri-Am at the Yorkshire Challenge Bowl held at Doncaster Golf Club. A great team effort from Lynn Harrison, Claire Oates and Jacqui Lomas winning on the back nine from Di Watterson, Audrey Cox and Doreen Stuart to bring the trophy back to Hallowes for the first time.

In the stroke play competition, Lynn Harrison qualified and progressed to the quarter-finals but unfortunately lost on the 18th.

Judith Race and Claire Oates narrowly missed out on the prizes in the foursomes competition, loosing third place on the back six.
