Captains Note

First team Championship was played at Hillsborough and we were represented by John Jarman, Gary Levick, James Murby and Sam Bairstow. It was a 36 hole event that became 18 which did not help us but we finished a creditable 8th and means we qualify for the same event in 2016.

The Second team 6-18 league continues it's winning way with a 5-3 victory at Rother Valley followed by a 6-2 win over Bondhay playing at Hallowes. It looks like that league is going to be a close finish between us, Bondhay and Sickleholme.

After a two week break the First Team played a crucial match on Wednesday away at Hillsborough (the league leaders). John Jarman, Steve Lister, Darren Shaw and Wayne Knight played brilliantly and fought hard all the way for a losing 5-3 result. A very positive outcome which still keeps us in the race for promotion and a tough battle away at second placed Wheatley next Monday. Keep everything crossed as we plan to go for outright victory.. Nothing less will do.

It's The Open, Texas Scramble Sunday, big breakfast, a few, massively discounted drinks and TV in the main bar. It's got to be worth calling in even if you're not playing. My money's on Happy Gilmore.

Vinny
