Supplementary Score
Having spoken to many of you, I realise that not many people know about the supplementary score procedure? For those of you who struggle to play in the Saturday and Thursday Medals, this option is there for you to play a counting card for handicap to use at any time. Obviously there are guidelines so I`ve outlined the important things below:
How to play a counting supplementary score: (This option is only available to handicaps 6 & above - Not available for Cat 1 golfers)
Come into the pro shop and state you would like to do a supplementary score. This is you stating your intention to submit a score for handicap. No card will be accepted unless this is done prior to your round.
Play your round stating which Tee/Course you`ve chosen to play. (Yellow or White only)
Hand scorecard back in to pro shop - All scores count good and bad and your handicap will be adjusted accordingly.
Scores measured against the S.S.S. of course played. Weather conditions or other scores are not taken into account.
You can play a maximum of 10 extra supplementary cards in a season.
Restricted to one per week.

Captains Update
By my calculations Hallowes is now top of the 6-18 handicap league at the half way stage following a 7-1 win over Rother Valley. Well done to team organiser Wayne Knight and thank you to all that played; Nigel, Andy, Jonny, Andy, Ray, Bob and new editions Andy Oates and Jamie Simms. Really appreciate you turning out in nasty wet weather.
Sadly we did not fare so well in the SUGC Interclub Foursomes Knockout. We lost to Rotherham but the team of Darren Brack, Mark Walters, Frank and Jack Wilson, Graham Pearson and John Hemstalk all put up a good fight. Thanks men.
A battering for Bondhay by the First Team who won 8-0 away. We might have had a slow start but the team has now picked up 22 points in three games which is a brilliant performance and puts us firmly in third place in the league pressing for second. Very proud to have a minor involvement with James, Sam, Steve and Darren playing great matchplay golf. Well done guys and thank you.
By the time I write the next note Captain's Trophy weekend will be upon us. I can only repeat that I hope to see you on the course and at the party on Saturday. As for the Captain's Charity Raffle, the prize fund grows but any more donations will be gratefully received. Tickets available shortly.
Ladies A Team
The Ladies A Team played Silkstone at home on the 1st of June and again away on the 8th of June. This resulted in a 5-2 home win and a well fought 4-3 loss away. Well done to all involved.

A message from the board regarding visitors and new members
The board of directors are trying to promote Hallowes as a friendly and inclusive golf club and hopefully you will appreciate that all the members have a part to play in this. While most members are welcoming towards visitors, there have been some recent examples of intolerance shown towards our guests. While some members will always grumble about visitors it is a financial fact of life that all golf clubs rely on them (at the very least to keep members subscriptions down). Would you please remember that today's visitor could very well be tomorrow's member and it is not only the course that attracts new members but the welcoming attitude (or otherwise) of members. On the same lines, please be aware that some of our newer members may have progressed through our own academy system, or be relative beginners to the game of golf. Please try to turn the clock back and remember how difficult most of us found the game when we first took it up and show a degree of tolerance and understanding to those who may not measure up to our own playing standards.
