On Saturday, 18 April Hallowes entered two teams into the SUGC Inter Club Foursomes event played at Town Moor Doncaster. We were represented by the clubs foursomes champions Wayne Knight and Andy Oates alongside rising stars Adam Bearder and Sam Bairstow. There was some excellent scoring from our team and we finished fifth out of the 25 clubs that entered. Well done and thank you for playing.

The 1st team fixtures commence on Wednesday, 6 May away at Hickleton followed by a home game on Monday 18, May against Hillsborough. Any support would be most welcome. Please watch out for team announcements in the coming week.

Pro's Fiddle

Every Tuesday evening we will be running a 9 Hole individual competition 3pm - 6pm (no start sheet, play in groups of 2, 3, or 4). The competitions will be a mixture of stablefords and medals and will be full handicap. The entry fee will be £1 and prize money will be paid to the top three competitors (pro shop account). The competition is open to all members with a handicap and will be a qualifying competition.

Pro-Am Event

Alongside this myself and Tom will also be playing a Pro-Am style event at 6pm. We will each arrange to play with three members, who can still play in the Pro's Fiddle if they wish. The result of the 9 hole 'Pro-Am' score will then be put into two league tables (My teams and Tom's Teams) with the two leading teams playing off at the end of the season. The entry fee for this will be £3 per person. Both competitions will be starting on Tuesday, 5 May. Lombard Trophy

Congratulations to Craig Swift who qualified to play in the Lombard Trophy with an excellent score of 67 in Saturday's Medal. Craig finished just ahead of Mark Wilson, who also shot a 67, with a better back 9. Myself and Craig will play in the regional final at Fulford Golf Club on Thursday, 2 of July with the winners of this event playing the Grand Final at Gleneagles.

The ladies A team

This week's team consisted of Lynn Harrison, Claire Oates, Sandra Barnes, Jacqui Lomas, Jenny Woodhead, Lyndsay Starkey and Marie Lethaby. The ladies' played a home match against Hillsborough GC on Friday, 24 April. This was the first match of the 2015 season in the Yorkshire ladies' inter club championship and produced an excellent 6-1 victory. Thanks to all the girls who came along and congratulations to all concerned.

Get into Golf Taster Session for Ladies - Monday, 4 May 2-4pm

The lady members at Hallowes Golf Club are hosting the session and I will be on hand to offer expert tuition all FREE  of charge  in a bid to show ladies how great golf can be. If you know any ladies who might like to give golf a try. Please tell them to meet near the putting green outside the clubhouse 10 minutes before the session starts. All equipment will be provided.
