We have had such a fantastic and positive response to the new newsletter and website which we launched last week. We are pleased that so many of you have either spoken to me and the team in the shop or sent me an email. That really is the aim of this weekly communication, to inform and to encourage more golfers to talk to us about their game and how they would like to improve. Have you set your aims for the year? For those of you that might have missed our email last week, We'd like to tell you a little more about my new email and website. We have spent a lot of time putting together this website. You will find videos on the latest golf equipment, instructional tips and videos, contact forms to keep in touch and information on the promotions that we have running in my shop. But we also want to feature you! So if you have any news be it a hole in one, birth of a son or granddaughter, a testimonial on how great your new driver or electric trolley is we want to know and we will be delighted to feature you in our site.

Congratulations to Jamie Simms who had a hole in one this weekend in the Texas Scramble on the 14th hole.
"B" Team
Phil Constantine will continue to captain the B Team in 2015, but is looking for another team member to become his Vice Captain. The vice captain will be responsible for helping to arrange matches throughout the year and ensure a team is available for arranged matches. Any help and ideas from members will be greatly appreciated. Anyone who is interested in becoming vice captain for the B Team please get in contact with Phil.

Captain's Charity - Macmillan Cancer Support
I hope you will all recognize the fantastic service provided by Macmillan, to provide help in such a sensitive yet practical and homely way at an incredibly difficult time in peoples lives is a real challenge. They do not do TV shows or national fundraisers, but their work is relentless, sadly, never ending, and local to us all. I believe they are worthy recipients of any help we can give.
I plan to have a significant fund raising weekend in June, but also hope to run occasional raffles as prizes are accumulated. In the meantime I will be running a draw alongside main competitions. With the help of John Oates and his team, we will run the 'Captain's bonus ball draw'. For a £1 investment and a pick of a number between 1 and 49, you stand the chance of winning £25. Just get lucky with the lotto bonus ball on Saturday night to be a winner (no handicap required!!!). Winners will be notified and funds available from the shop.
Funds will be accumulated across all events and members advised of the final total at the end of the season. I hope you will support this great cause! Your Captain, Vinny Gell.
