Competition news

President's Putter - Saturday, 12 May

Congratulation to John Jarman for his win in the recent President's Putter. Scores were as follows:

First place - John Jarman (67 - 1 = 66), second place - Jamie Simms (79 - 12 = 67), third place - Jack Wilson (70 - 3 = 67).

Ladies Saturday BM Lucas Medal - Saturday, 19 May

Congratulation to Ann Farrell (Silver Winner) and Jacqui Lomas (Bronze Winner) in the recent Ladies Saturday BM Lucas Medal. Scores were as follows:

Silver Winner - Ann Farrell (87 - 13 = 74).
Bronze Winner - Jacqui Lomas (93 - 20 = 73).

John May Cup Matchplay

Well done to the following members; Simon Whittam, Jack Hawksworth, Mark Davy, Simon Marr, Bill Drew, Shaun Clark and Bryan Midgley who have qualified for the John May Cup Matchplay event for 2018. The draw will be published on the club noticeboard in the next few days.

2018 Matchplay Competitions

Please note that the draw for the first rounds of the 2018 Matchplay Competitions have now been made, please arrange your match as soon as possible. The following rules apply:

All competitors must record a contact telephone number and email address against their name on the entry sheet.
It is the responsibility of all competitors to contact the opposing party to arrange a match date prior to the end of each round noted.
Please plan your games well in advance ensuring you take account of holiday arrangements etc.
Please play as early as possible in the competition calendar.
Failure to complete any matches by the due date will result in disqualification of both parties.
No extensions will be permitted unless closing date is altered as a result of course closure.

These rules are intended to avoid dispute between players and ensure the smooth running of the competition. Please comply and avoid disqualification. First round closing dates are as follows:

Monday, 4 June - Benson Trophy.
Monday, 4 June - Badger Trophy.
Monday, 2 July - Bill May Jug.
Monday, 30 July - Mixed Knockout.

Junior news

Saturday Morning Junior Golf Coaching Roll-up

Our next session will be this Saturday, 26 May at 9:30am. These sessions are the perfect way to introduce children to the game of golf. Full details are as follows:

Venue - Hallowes Golf Club Practice Ground.
Date - Saturday, 26 May.
Time - Arrive 9:15am for a 9:30am start.
Price - £5 per child.

Members and visitors are invited to bring their children or grandchildren aged 5-10 years old, to try golf for the first time. If you would like to book your place, please click here or call into the pro shop.

Junior Holiday Camps

We will be running two junior camps at Hallowes next week. The dates are Tuesday, 29 May and Friday, 1 June and the cost is £25 per day. The days are ideal for juniors (8 to 16) wanting to play golf in a fun, safe environment and members can book their child/grandchild in on either day or both days.

The day starts at 10:00am, there is a break for lunch around 12:15pm and then it finishes at 3:00pm. Your child can bring their own packed lunch or buy some food from the kitchen - burgers, fish fingers and chip butties etc.
