Charity Event - Sunday, 15 April Jack Wilson, one of our juniors, is hosting a charity event at Hallowes on Sunday, 15 April. As well as playing non-stop golf from dawn til dusk, Jack is inviting you to sponsor him and/or pay to play a holes with him. There will also be an afternoon tea (1:00pm until 4:00pm) which is being organised by Jack's sister Ella, with some entertainment for all. Bethany Pashley will be singing and there is also a magician, who will be performing tricks at your table. Please give Jack and his sister your support. All the money that is raised is going towards Teenage Cancer Charities to support young people who are suffering from this illness. Forms to support Jack and his golfing endeavours are in the back bar or in the pro's shop. Tickets for the afternoon tea (£10 for two) can be bought from the bar or from Jack's mum Sharlene. Even though there is not much golf being played at the moment, Jack would really appreciate you calling into the club to sign the form or to buy tickets for afternoon tea. Young people with cancer would really appreciate your support.

Golf can be a frustrating game at the best of times, but incurring a penalty stroke when you’ve accidentally done something wrong seems very unfair, especially when that one stroke could be the difference between getting a handicap cut or not. |
| Current Rules Under the current Rules of Golf, if you accidentally nudge your ball while addressing it you incur a one-stroke penalty and must replace it (18-2). The only exception relates to if it is accidentally moved in the process of marking it. In this case, it must be replaced and there is no penalty (20-1). New Rules from 2019 The new proposed rule (13.1c) states there will no longer be a penalty for accidentally causing your ball to move on the green and you must replace it on its original spot. |
