John May Cup Matchplay 2017

2017 Matchplay Competitions
Please note that the draw for the first rounds of the 2017 Matchplay Competitions have now been made, please arrange your match as soon as possible. The following rules apply:
All competitors must record a contact telephone number and email address against their name on the entry sheet.
It is the responsibility of all competitors to contact the opposing party to arrange a match date prior to the end of each round noted.
Please plan your games well in advance ensuring you take account of holiday arrangements etc.
Please play as early as possible in the competition calendar.
Failure to complete any matches by the due date will result in disqualification of both parties.
No extensions will be permitted unless closing date is altered as a result of course closure.
These rules are intended to avoid dispute between players and ensure the smooth running of the competition. Please comply and avoid disqualification. First round closing dates are as follows:
Sunday, 4 June - Benson Trophy.
Sunday, 4 June - Badger Trophy.
Sunday, 2 July - Bill May Jug.
Friday, 30 July - Mixed Knockout.
Sunday, 30 July - Carl Bennett.
Sunday, 20 Aug - John May Cup.

Family Fun Event - Sunday, 21 May
The first Family Fun Event of the golf season is on Sunday, 21 May. For those of you who haven't played in one before, this is a fun game of golf on the nine hole course of the practice area. Enter in twos - golfer/golfer or golfer/non-golfer (The golfer can play to the hole and the non-golfer putt out). The time sheet is in the lobby. Play with your partner/child/friend. The cost is £5 per couple which includes food after playing and the chance to win prizes
Saturday Morning Junior Golf Coaching Roll-up
Our next session will be this Saturday, 20 May at 9:30am. These sessions are the perfect way to introduce children to the game of golf. Full details are as follows:

Fitting Days
If you're looking to upgrade your clubs, or want to test out the new equipment for 2017, then a fitting day is perfect for you. We've managed to arrange two of them to be held on our practice ground over the next few months.
Dates are as follows:
Titleist Fitting Day - Friday, 2 June (1:30pm - 5:30pm).
Callaway Fitting Day - Monday, 5 June (1:30pm - 5:30pm).

Congratulations to Isaac for winning a three-way play-off and clinching the PGA North Assistants' Championship of Lancashire at Ellesmere Golf Club last Friday. He achieved it in style with a 20-foot birdie putt from off the green at the third extra hole. The week before Isaac qualified at Hesketh Golf Club for the Galvin Green PGA Assistants' Championship. The Championship will be played in August at Coxmmor Golf Club.
