What A Start To The 2017 Competition Season Here At Hallowes Golf Club

Well done to everyone who scored under par in the first Medals of the season last week, especially Karl Burton and James Millington who both shot two outstanding rounds. Karl shot 78 - 19 = 59 on Thursday and James shot 71 - 12 = 59 on Saturday. Full results were as follows:

   

Thursday April Medal

Division One - First place - James Evans (74 - 6 = 68), second place - James Murby (71 - 2 = 69) and in third place - James Millington (82 - 13 = 69).
Division Two - First place - Karl Burton (78 - 19 = 59), second place - George Ash (81 - 17 = 64) and in third place - Steven Furness (86 - 21 = 65).

Saturday April Medal

Division One - First place - James Millington (71 - 12 = 59), second place - Tony Perkins (73 - 8 = 65) and in third place - Paul Street (74 - 9 = 65).
Division Two - First place - Vinny Gell (82 - 16 = 66), second place - Michael Cardwell (91 - 22 = 69) and in third place - John Hardwick (87 - 18 = 69).

Ladies Yorkshire Foursomes Qualifier - Wednesday, 19 April

Winners - Judith Race and Claire Oates (92 - 18 = 74) and runners-up - Sue Goulding and Sandra Barnes (99 - 22.5 = 76.5).

Ladies Medal - Saturday, 22 April

Congratulation to Lynn Harrison (Silver winner) and Judith Race (Bronze winner) in the recent Saturday Ladies Medal. Scores were as follows:

Silver Winner - Lynn Harrison (82 - 12 = 71).
Bronze Winner - Judith Race (97 - 23 = 74).

Regents Spring Trophy - Tuesday, 25 April

Congratulations to Kevin Smith who won the Regents Spring Trophy with a great score of 39 points. Full results were as follows:

First place - Kevin Smith (39 points), second place - John Dakin (38 points) and in third place - David Thorpe (36 points), David Battle (36 points) and Derek Saveall (36 points).

Lombard Trophy 2017

Congratulations to Tony Perkins who qualified to play in the Lombard Trophy with an excellent score of 65 in Saturday's Medal. Tony finished just ahead of Paul Street who also shot a 65, with a better back nine score. Myself and Tony will represent Hallowes Golf Club in the Regional Final at Moortown Golf Club on Thursday, 8 of June, with the winners of this event playing the Grand Final at Pestana Vila Sol Golf & Resort, Portugal.

Junior April Medal - Sunday, 23 April

Congratulations to James Millington for winning the first Junior Medal of the season and keeping his excellent run of form going. Full results were as follows:

First place - James Millington (73 - 8 = 65), second place - George Ash (80 - 13 = 67) and in third place - Luke Turner (84 - 14 = 70).

Par Three Fun Competition - Sunday, 21 May

On Sunday, 21 May (2:00pm - 4:00pm) we will be holding a par three fun competition open to golfers and non-golfers. The entry fee is £5 per pair including refreshments and the start sheet can be found on the club noticeboard.

Junior Meeting

We will be having a meeting on Thursday, 27 April at 7:00pm in the clubhouse for junior members and their parents or guardians. The meeting is to discuss the junior program going forward this year and also it will give you the opportunity to meet other juniors within our club.

Saturday Morning Junior Golf Coaching Roll-up

Our next session will be this Saturday, 29 April at 9:30am. These sessions are the perfect way to introduce children to the game of golf. Full details are as follows:

• Venue - Hallowes Golf Club practice ground.
• Date - Saturday, 15 April.
• Time - Arrive 9:15am for a 9:30am start.
• Price - £5 per child.
