New Local Rule Introduced By R&A And USGA 2017
Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1 have been modified as follows:
When a player's ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment.
The moved ball or ball marker must be replaced as provided in rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1.
This local rule applies only when the player's ball or ball marker lies on the putting green and any movement is accidental.
Note - If it is determined that a player's ball on the putting green was moved as a result of wind, water or some other natural causes such as the effects of gravity, the ball must be played as it lies from its new location. A ball marker moved in such circumstances is replaced.
Knockout Competitions
The closing date for all 2017 Club Knockout Competitions is this Monday, 3 April. Please enter your name on the entry sheets on the competition noticeboard and pay your £2.50 per person entry fee in the pro shop.

The Badger Trophy - James Bailey.
Mixed Knockout - John and Marie Lethaby.
Junior Knockout - Jack Wilson.
Competition Entry Rules And Responsibilities
The following is intended to avoid dispute between players and ensure the smooth running of the competitions. Please comply and avoid disqualification:
There will not be any telephone reminders after the closing date.
All competitors must record a contact telephone number and email address against their name on the entry sheet.
It is the responsibility of all competitors to contact the opposing party to arrange a match date prior to the end of each round noted.
Please plan your games well in advance ensuring you take account of holiday arrangements etc.
Please play as early as possible in the competition calendar.
Failure to complete any matches by the due date will result in disqualification of both parties.
No extensions will be permitted unless closing dates are altered as a result of course closure.
Saturday Morning Junior Golf Coaching Roll-up
Following on from last year's successful Junior Fun/Coaching sessions, Saturday, 15 April at 9.30am will be our first outdoor Junior Golf Coaching session on the practice ground. These sessions are the perfect way to introduce children to the game of golf. Details are as follows:
Venue - Hallowes Golf Club practice ground.
Date - Saturday, 15 April.
Time - Arrive 9.15am for a 9.30am start.
Price - £5 per child.
Members and visitors are invited to bring their children or grandchildren (aged 5 - 16 years old), to try golf for the first time. If you would like to book your place, please click here or call into the pro shop.
